A shared resource of organelle-tagged cell lines for the community to aggregate, share, and access data and observations, fostering open collaboration and accelerating discovery.

Pilot release (Q1 2025)

We will release two tagged cell lines (A549: 16 organelles/21 markers and HEK293: 36 cell lines/19 organelles). The box will include cells, QC results, and SOPs (Maintenance, Organelle-IP, Labeling, Imaging). Groups can use and modify cells at will. In return, we request that the observations/results be shared with CZ Biohub SF. We are open to collaboration with the community on data analysis.

Cell Line A549

A549 cells are a human alveolar epithelial cell line derived from lung adenocarcinoma, widely used due to their epithelial origin, ease of culture, robust cellular processes and broad virus permissiveness. We generated a panel of A549 lines with 16 endogenously GFP-tagged organelles. These cell lines offer a versatile and reliable platform for investigating dynamic host-pathogen interactions, cancer biology, innate immunity, drug discovery, ultrastructural studies, and general molecular and cell biology.
